Axel Tuanzebe said Manchester United reminded the football world they remain a “big club” with their latest stunning win at Paris St Germain.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side made the perfect start on their return to the Champions League with a 2-1 victory in Paris, courtesy of Marcus Rashford's 87th minute winner.
Defender Tuanzebe was one of the stars of the win, the 22-year-old defender excelling on his first appearance for 10 months following a lengthy injury lay-off.
After a tough start to the season, which included heavy home defeats to Crystal Palace and Tottenham in the league, United are back on track with successive wins at Newcastle and PSG.
Tuanzebe said United's players are determined to prove they deserve to be back on Europe's elite stage and claimed they showed that with their opening win over last season's beaten finalists.
“We’re a big club, and we’re out here to compete,” said Tuanzebe. “We’re not here for the music or just for the parade.
“We worked hard last season to be in this competition, so we want to be the best we can and we wanted to start off just as we did today and continue this momentum going forward.”

United have been here before under Solskjaer, making statements of intent with big wins over illustrious opponents, only to fail to capitalise on them in their subsequent games.
After beating PSG 3-1 away in 2019 to reach the last eight of the Champions League, United lost their next two games and won only two of their remaining 12 fixtures that season.
And last season, after opening the campaign with a 4-0 win over Chelsea, United suffered a home defeat to Crystal Palace, sandwiched by draws against Wolves and Southampton.
The challenge now for Solskjaer and his players is to use their latest Paris triumph as the springboard for a consistent winning run, both domestically and in Europe.
United face another big test on Saturday, with the visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford, where Solskajer's side will be looking for a first home win of the new season.
Solskjaer said: “Football's all about what's in between the ears. Yes, you've got talent, physicality and the technical bit.
"But if your head is screwed on right and you're focused and concentrating on your job, then you get performances like this.”
