Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Eric Bailly will miss three to four weeks of action after suffering an injury on international duty with Ivory Coast.

The 26-year-old was substituted in the 70th minute during his country's clash with Belgium last week but he allayed any injury fears on Instagram, claiming the sub was as a result of fatigue. Bailly played 90 minutes against Japan five days later.

Bailly was an unused substitute in United's Premier League win against Newcastle but he did not travel to Paris for the Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking after the game at the Parc des Princes, Solskjaer confirmed Bailly would spend three to four weeks on the sidelines with a muscle injury meaning he will miss a number of key fixtures.

Solskjaer's timeline means Bailly will be unavailable for selection against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton before making a return following the November international break. He could return against West Brom on the weekend beginning November 21.

United captain Harry Maguire was also absent from the win against PSG but Solskjaer was full of praise for Axel Tuanzebe who impressed in his first competitive appearance since December 2019.

Solskjaer said: "Eric has a muscle injury, we think maybe three or four weeks, maybe after the international break he'll be back."
