Front threes don't come tougher than Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel Di Maria. 

Yet Manchester United's makeshift back three of Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw — in the absence of the injured Harry Maguire — refused to be bullied in Paris on Tuesday night.

The defence, along with Fred and Scott McTominay in front of them, made life difficult for a very talented PSG side.

It was just unfortunate that Anthony Martial's own goal cost United the clean sheet. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got some stick this season, but his team were organised and had a clear game plan against PSG. 

That is the best way to respond. Solskjaer's side frustrated their opponents and looked to hit them on the break. 

One ball over the top by Bruno Fernandes should have been finished by Marcus Rashford at the start of the second half. But Rashford made amends later on. 

Solskjaer had his players start applying pressure, sensing they could grab a win, and they did with Rashford's superb shot. Kudos to Solskjaer. He had a plan, and his players executed it perfectly.

Fred and Scott McTominay also helped to keep Neymar and his PSG team-mates in check
