Marcus Rashford was the hero in Paris for Manchester United once again as he secured a 2-1 win against PSG.
United got their Champions League adventure off to a fantastic start as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returned to the scene of his greatest achievement as a manager.
The Red Devils needed a last-gasp penalty from Rashford to squeeze past the Ligue 1 giants in March 2019, but they were full value in the French capital on Wednesday evening.
Bruno Fernandes needed two attempts from the spot to open the scoring after Anthony Martial was brought down in the first half, firing confidently past Keylor Navas.
The Premier League side went looking for a second goal, yet found themselves level at the Parc des Princes when Martial diverted the ball past the impressive David De Gea.
Barely more than 50 days have passed since PSG lost to Bayern Munich in the 2020 Champions League final, yet Thomas Tuchel’s side looked a shadow of their best as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe struggled to get into the game.
And it was Rashford who made the Parisians pay once again when his low shot with just three minutes of normal time remaining fizzed past Navas in goal to secure all three points.
Many predicted a home win given the side's contrasting fortunes of late, with De Gea making two important early stops before Martial was brought down in the box by Abdou Diallo midway through the first half.
Stand-in skipper Fernandes saw his penalty saved for the second successive match, but held his nerve to find the net after the Video Assistant Referee ordered a retake for Navas straying off his line.
United looked convincing in a 3-5-2 formation and could have gone further ahead, only for Martial to glance a Neymar corner into his own net and spark a helter-skelter conclusion.
Both sides had chances to win but United looked more impressive and, just as Solskjaer's side looked set for a morale-boosting draw, Rashford lashed home his superb late winner to stun PSG once more.
