Manchester United fans have questioned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to continue with Fred and Scott McTominay in midfield over Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek, whilst expressing their excitement to see Alex Telles in action.

The Brazilian deadline day addition makes his full debut for United against Paris Saint-Germain this evening, as United bid to get their UEFA Champions League campaign off and running with a win.

Solskjaer made three changes to the team that beat Newcastle United 4-1 on Saturday night, with Juan Mata, Harry Maguire and Daniel James replaced by Telles, Axel Tuanzebe and Anthony Martial.

Tuanzebe makes his first start of the season in a new-look back-three system, that served Solskjaer well in big matches last season.

Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek remain on the bench, with Fred and McTominay instead preferred in midfield, with captain for the night Bruno Fernandes operating just behind Martial and Marcus Rashfod.

With several bold selections, including Tuanzebe and a change of formation, United fans have focused on Solskjaer's decision to omit Pogba and Van de Beek from the starting XI, despite an improved performance at St James' Park.

PSG have Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and former United winger Angel Di Maria all starting in attack, with Ander Herrera in midfield.
