Manchester United believe Luke Shaw should start at centre-back in a back four against Paris Saint-Germain in tonight's Champions League clash.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a selection headache at the back after both Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly missed the trip to France due to injury.

Axel Tuanzebe is in contention to partner Victor Lindelof but the 22-year-old hasn't played a competitive fixture since December last year.

Shaw featured as a centre-back when Solskjaer utilised a back three last season but supporters believe the left-back can cover Maguire's absence which would allow Alex Telles to come into the team to make his United debut. The Brazilian was an unused substitute in Saturday's win against Newcastle and trained with his new teammates again on Sunday.

In midfield, supporters have gone for an extremely attack-minded trident of Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. Solskjaer confirmed Fernandes would be handed the captain's armband with Maguire out injured but the United boss is yet to hand Van de Beek a league start since his arrival from Ajax.

Both Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani did not travel to Paris meaning there is a void to be filled alongside Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. Given his recent form, fans want to see Juan Mata feature in the starting XI despite Daniel James being available.

Manchester United fans XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Telles; Van de Beek, Pogba, Fernandes; Mata, Rashford, Martial.
