Bruno Fernandes’ “priceless” reaction to being given the captain’s armband for Manchester United’s Champions League clash against PSG left fans feeling emotional.

The Portuguese midfielder was back to his best in the Red Devils’ 4-1 win over Newcastle, grabbing the second goal of the game.

It puts the midfielder on three goals and three assists in just five appearances this season.

With club captain Harry Maguire suffering struggles, some fans have suggested Fernandes should be given the captain’s armband.

And footage has emerged of the moment the 26-year-old found out it was his for United’s European opener.

In the pre-match press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had announced that the centre-back would not be part of the squad to face PSG.

“The captain is sitting next to me. Bruno will captain the team tomorrow.”

Fernandes, also in the press conference, suddenly looks up in surprise and smiles at his manager.

The Portuguese midfielder then raises his eyebrows before laughing with the United boss.
