Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks with Tottenham to sign England midfielder Dele Alli, according to a report.

Alli was left out of the Spurs squad to face Southampton despite being fit to play.

Manager Jose Mourinho admitted that he doesn’t have enough space to include the player in his side.

And now PSG have declared their interest in the player by beginning transfer talks, according to The Telegraph.

The French champions are hoping to improve their squad before the end of the transfer window and see Alli as an ideal option.

The Englishman has proven his ability in the past, but he’s had a poor start to the 2020/21 campaign.

He was substituted by Mourinho in Spurs’ 1-0 loss to Everton after a poor display.

He was also left out of the travelling squad which played in the Europa League against Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday.

PSG are hoping to capitalise on this uncertainty by launching a bid for the player.

They’re believed to be considering an initial loan move for the 24-year-old to determine whether they should sign him permanently.

PSG have emerged as the favourites to sign Alli amid interest from fellow European giants Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

Both Real and Inter became interested in the player after his impressive displays a couple of seasons ago.

Rumours of a potential move away from North London begun after Spurs’ Amazon documentary was released.

In the ‘All or Nothing’ documentary, Mourinho accused Alli of being ‘lazy’.

It’s unclear whether Spurs are going to reject PSG’s advances or discuss a deal.

Alli may struggle to regain his place in the team as they already seem to have their starting 11 sussed out. Mourinho employed a 4-3-3 formation in Spurs’ convincing win over Southampton earlier today.

It looks like Alli could trade the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for the Parc des Princes.
