Manchester United are in talks with Porto over left-back Alex Telles although they are yet to reach an agreement with the club for a transfer.

The Red Devils are looking to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Brazil international after missing out on Sergio Reguilon who is set to confirm a permanent move to Tottenham.

Discussions are underway for the 27-year-old, and reports in France have suggested that an agreement has been reached, but the Daily Mail report that club sources insist this is premature.

A deal is still very much still possible, and even probable, though as the former Inter Milan and Galatasaray man would only cost around £17m.

With the Brazilian’s contract set to expire next summer, Porto will be happy to cash in on him while they can, and with both United and PSG interested, they will be able to.

Telles has been a regular at Porto since arriving at the club in 2016, making 192 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and winning two league titles in that time.

Manchester United are not short at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams available to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but with Shaw continually prone to injury, it is a position they have been looking to strengthen this summer.

Reguilon was an initial target, but United were put off by Real Madrid wanting to insert a buy-back clause for around £40m and that put the Red Devils off.

Spurs were willing to agree to the terms, though, and are ready to confirm the Spaniard in a deal worth around £27m.
